It's that time of year again that we rap up another V8 Supercar championship. Jamie Whincup needs only around 47 points to grab the title.
We also say goodbye to Oran Park this weekend. The first time I ever went to the V8s was over 10 years ago at this great circuit. While it will be a great day cheering on the return of a Ford Champion, it will also be quite sad knowing that the V8s will go around Oran Park for the last time. I'll be sure to get plenty of photos.

yeah definitely is a sad thing to see that Oran Park is no more. But its been on the crds for a few years now, that the inevitable has come. It was a good ting that Whincup rapped up the championship on the saturday huh? he had a dog of a sunday in those two last races. Skaife's fairwell didnt exactly go to plan, had no luck at all. Although I have been known not to like him very much, there's no doubting of his talent and ability and what he's achieved over the years... been a real contributor to the sport, it definitely will look a bit different in V8's without him.

It was very saddening to drive down Cobbity Road to the V8s for the last time, looking around and seeing housing development already well under way in the area before the circuit. It annoyed me more as they handed out "Oran Park Town" bags which heaps of people were carrying around... Theres so much bloody space out there... Why Oran Park? And to make matters worse, I have to remember Rick Kelly as being the last race winner at Oran Park Damnit! It was a bumper crowd (as it nearly always is there), the hill was packed out by about 9:30. Good farewell for Skaifey, got a standing ovation from everyone in the crowd and he did what he could in the last race, passed plenty of cars. Yeah it was a terrible day on track for Jamie. From memory his car has given it up before at Oran Park while in the lead? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, Frosty had an even worse day. Also what happened in race 3? I saw him off but I missed how it happened... He was near Paul Morriss so I thought he may be up to his old tricks... Also congrats to Jamie for not burnouting it into the sand again!
